Scientific Illustrator; June 2022-Present

UWorld, Grand Rapids, Michigan (Headquarters Dallas, Texas)

  • illustrated images for the UWorld MCAT and AP Science test preparatory products by combining traditional artistic skills with the use of 2D and 3D digital programs

  • communicated and collaborated with other UWorld illustrators, authors, and team leads to create the best illustrations that highlight specific scientific information for UWorld’s products

Medical Illustrator/ Illustrator; Aug. 2018-Present

VS Illustrations, L.L.C., Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • created illustrations utilized by Deliver Contacts for its publications, advertisements, and educational videos; Nous Publishing for children’s book images for Fredrick the Troll Wants New Hair; 99 Percentile DBA, and Vital Checklist for multiple publications and the development of a new pain grade scale

  • conceptualized, sketched and illustrated traditional and digital artworks by making use of traditional art supplies as well as digital programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe CC, and ZBrush

  • communicated with clients to discuss deadlines, budgets, contract negotiations, and their illustration needs

 

Anatomical Prosector; Jan. 2019-June 2022

Michigan State University, Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • dissected and cleaned donors for anatomical demonstrations, which were then utilized in multiple medical courses throughout MSU

  • assisted medical students in the prosection lab by using anatomical knowledge and leadership skills

  • collaborated with other Kendall College artists to create sketches, line-work, and final illustrations for a museum coloring book

 

Illustrator and 3D Sculptor (Freelance); Jan. 2018-July 2018

John Ball Zoo, Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • proposed sketches and illustrations for a mural concept to the zoo management team and worked alongside other artists to paint an animal exhibit

  • utilized three-dimensional modeling software and three-dimensional printing to construct naturalistic sculptures of life-sized animal paw prints for an exhibit
